Job summary

Stem Health in Toronto is seeking a certified Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to join our physician-led, membership-based clinic. This role emphasizes quality, patient experience, and collaborative care in a state-of-the-art imaging suite.

You will perform abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, vascular, MSK, and echocardiographic studies, support cardiovascular risk assessment, and document findings within EHR/PACS while maintaining high standards of infection control and member comfort.

Qualifications

CMRITO registration or eligibility in Ontario.
Credentialing with Sonography Canada or ARDMS (CRGS/CRMS/CRVS or equivalent).
Minimum 2–3 years of clinical ultrasound experience in private clinic, diagnostic imaging centre, or hospital.
Proficiency across abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, MSK and vascular duplex imaging, plus echocardiography.
Current CPR/BLS certification and patient-centered approach.
Strong communication and documentation within EHR/PACS.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

Diagnostic imaging at Stem Health is not a throughput exercise, it is a precision tool in our broader commitment to preventive, proactive care. We are looking for a certified and client-focused Diagnostic Ultrasound Technologist to join our clinical team and bring that standard to life in every scan.

In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations spanning abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, vascular, musculoskeletal, and echocardiographic imaging as part of our preventive health assessments and ongoing care programs. You will have the time, tools, and environment to focus on quality rather than quantity, working closely with our physician-led team to ensure imaging findings are integrated seamlessly into each member's care plan. Key Responsibilities

General diagnostic ultrasound

Perform a full range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, musculoskeletal, and thyroid.

Acquire high-quality diagnostic images with meticulous attention to anatomical accuracy, image optimization, and protocol adherence across all modalities.

Review images in real time for diagnostic completeness and quality, applying technical adjustments to ensure every study is clinically actionable.

Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment in optimal condition, performing routine quality checks and coordinating servicing as needed.

Echocardiography and cardiac imaging

Perform transthoracic echocardiograms (TTE) to image the heart's chambers, valves, and vessels assessing function, wall motion, and hemodynamics in collaboration with the clinical team.

Monitor member vitals and clinical response throughout cardiac imaging procedures, escalating any concerns to the supervising physician promptly and appropriately.

Accurately interpret and document 2D, M-mode, and Doppler waveforms, providing a structured summary of findings for physician review.

Vascular studies

Perform venous and arterial duplex ultrasound studies to evaluate blood flow, identify vascular abnormalities, and detect conditions including DVT, peripheral arterial disease, carotid stenosis, and aneurysmal disease.

Apply colour flow and spectral Doppler techniques to assess vessel patency, flow direction, velocity, and waveform characteristics.

Provide clear, accurate vascular imaging summaries to support physician diagnosis and ongoing cardiovascular risk management for members.

Member preparation and experience

Welcome members to the imaging suite and prepare them for procedures with warmth and clarity explaining each step, responding to questions, and ensuring they feel informed and at ease throughout.

Manage member positioning and comfort throughout examinations with attentiveness and care.

Recognize and respond appropriately to member anxiety, clinical contraindications, or unexpected findings during a scan, escalating concerns to the clinical team as needed.

Clinical collaboration and documentation

Collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the care team to ensure imaging findings are clearly communicated, accurately documented, and meaningfully integrated into each member's diagnostic and care plan.

Flag urgent or incidental findings to the appropriate clinical team member promptly and professionally.

Document all procedures, observations, and imaging data accurately and promptly within the clinic's EHR and PACS platform.

Maintain complete and audit-ready imaging records in accordance with regulatory and clinic standards.

Quality assurance and infection control

Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and maintain a clean, organized imaging suite that meets the clinic's standard of presentation at all times.

Contribute to quality assurance processes and support the ongoing refinement of diagnostic imaging workflows, protocols, and member experience.

Qualifications & Experience

Registered with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).

Certified with Sonography Canada (CRGS, CRMS, CRVS, or equivalent) or the ARDMS; dual-credentialling across modalities (general, cardiac, and vascular) is a significant asset.

Minimum 2–3 years of clinical ultrasound experience in a private clinic, diagnostic imaging centre, or hospital setting.

Proficiency across multiple ultrasound modalities general (abdominal, pelvic, thyroid, MSK), vascular duplex, and echocardiography.

Hands-on experience with TTE and stress echocardiography; TEE experience or certification is an asset.

Strong technical skills in image acquisition, Doppler optimization, and quality assessment across diverse body habits and clinical presentations.

Current CPR/BLS certification.

Excellent interpersonal skills: warm, professional, and able to create a calm, reassuring environment for members during clinical procedures.

Comfortable working in a high-expectation, client-facing environment where member experience is as important as technical accuracy.

Proficiency with EHR systems and PACS or equivalent digital imaging platforms.

Experience in executive health, concierge medicine, or private diagnostic imaging is a strong asset.
