Job summary

Roots Funding is seeking a Full Stack Developer to build and maintain the platform end to end. You will own features from scoping through to production, working across the front end, back end, and data layer in a hands-on role with meaningful ownership.

The role emphasizes delivering robust APIs, scalable infrastructure, and clean interfaces while collaborating with the founding team in a fully remote setting open to candidates in the UK or Canada.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional full stack development experience.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Production experience with React and a modern back-end runtime.
• Solid working knowledge of relational databases.
• Demonstrated experience integrating third-party APIs.
• Strong understanding of web fundamentals, including authentication, authorization, and API security.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain features across the full stack.
• Develop and maintain APIs and back-end services.
• Design database schemas and write efficient queries.
• Build responsive, accessible user interfaces from design specifications.
• Integrate and maintain third-party services, including document signing, payments, CRM, and event platforms.
• Ensure platform security, performance, and reliability.
• Participate in code review and help set engineering standards.
• Debug and resolve production issues.
• Contribute to architectural decisions as the platform scales.
• Maintain clear technical documentation.
