Job summary

The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is seeking a Creative, dynamic Educational Assistant for a 100% term, 35 hours per week position. Under the Principal, you will support students with exceptional needs, including ASD and developmental disabilities, and contribute to pool activities, special programs, and assistive technologies.

Applicants should have a community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker or Child and Youth Care, or equivalent, and 1–2 years of related

Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have a college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker or equivalent.
• An asset: First Aid/CPR Level C.
• Completion of Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, TCI, or Behaviour Management Systems training.

Responsibilities

• Support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental disabilities in the school.
• Participate in pool programs and assist with academic support and specialized programs.
• Support deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students, and assist with physiotherapy exercises.
• Modify programs to support learning for students with learning disabilities and speech/language issues.
• Assist with outside yard duties, lifting, toileting, and/or pool duties.
