Job summary

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) invites applications for Casual Learning Support Workers in the Fort St. James area. This casual role has no guaranteed hours and includes compensation at the uncertified rate of $26.72 per hour.

Successful candidates will support students alongside school and district staff, help deliver education programs, and advocate for students within school-based teams as needed.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate).
• Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children/youth with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record (driver's abstract required).
• WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Work with school and district staff to support the individual needs of students.
• Assist in the delivery of regular or alternate education programs for individuals or groups.
• Advocate for students and participate in school-based teams as needed.
