Job summary

SD91 in British Columbia is seeking Casual Learning Support Workers to support students in the Fraser Lake area. This casual role has no guaranteed hours and involves collaborating with school and district staff to meet individual student needs.

The successful candidate will assist in delivering regular or alternate education programs, and advocate for students by participating in school-based teams as required. A Criminal Records Check is typically required by the district.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate) required.
• Education Assistant Certificate program completed.
• Minimum 6 months of experience with children/youth with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record (driver’s abstract required).
• WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.
• Note: Applicants without the required certification will be considered Uncertified and compensated at the corresponding rate. If you do not have the required qualifications, you will be paid at the Uncertified Learning Support Worker rate ($26.72).

Responsibilities

• Work with school and district staff to support the individual needs of students
• Assist in the delivery of regular or alternate education programs for individuals or groups
• Advocate for students and participate in school-based teams as needed
