POSITION TITLE: Warehouse Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

Parkland Food Bank is a non-profit organization committed to addressing food insecurity in the Tri-Region area by providing accessible, nutritious food in a respectful and dignified manner.
Position Summary
The Warehouse Coordinator plays a vital role in the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of perishable food items received through purchasing and food rescue efforts. This position ensures compliance with food safety standards, maintains quality control, and supports overall food bank operations. The ideal candidate is mature, intuitive, and sees the big picture—bringing both attention to detail and initiative to their work.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensure proper handling and rotation of perishable inventory using FIFO practices
• Monitor and maintain cooler and freezer temperatures to meet food safety standards
• Maintain accurate records for food rescue and agency distributions
• Organize and prioritize tasks during high-volume days
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to support overall warehouse flow
• Assist with inventory counts and supply restocking
• Support Saturday morning food rescue and distribution activities
What We’re Looking For:
• A mature, intuitive team player who takes initiative and understands the big picture
• Strong attention to detail and ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate respectfully with diverse teams
• Comfortable working in coolers and freezers and lifting up to 25 lbs regularly
• Availability to work Saturdays
• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Required Certifications (or willingness to obtain):
• Occupational Health & Safety Training
Compensation
• Average Weekly Hours: This position works approximately 30 hours per week, including a regular Saturday morning shift. Weekday hours are scheduled in coordination with the Operations Manager.
