Job summary

Minted Search Group is seeking an Employment Lawyer for a Toronto-based firm client. The ideal candidate has 3–4 years of employment law or related litigation experience and is in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

You will manage files with increasing independence, work closely with experienced employment lawyers, and gain meaningful client exposure and advocacy opportunities in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of employment law or related litigation experience.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Strong interest in plaintiff-side employment law.
  • Experience managing litigation files with increasing independence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage plaintiff-side employment law matters from initial consultation through resolution.
  • Advise employees on wrongful/constructive dismissal, harassment, discrimination, and human rights matters.
  • Review employment agreements, termination packages, and workplace policies.
  • Draft demand letters, pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Represent clients at discoveries, mediations, motions, hearings, and other appearances.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare opinions on employment issues.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and ADR.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide practical, strategic advice.
  • Work with senior lawyers and the litigation team.

Our client, a highly regarded employment law firm in Toronto, is seeking an Employment Lawyer with 3–4 years of experience to join its growing practice.

This is an excellent opportunity for an associate interested in plaintiff-side employment law and workplace disputes. The successful candidate will manage files with increasing independence, work closely with experienced employment lawyers, and receive meaningful client exposure and advocacy opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage plaintiff-side employment law matters from initial consultation through resolution
  • Advise employees on wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, workplace harassment, discrimination, accommodation, and human rights matters
  • Review employment agreements, termination packages, workplace policies, and settlement offers
  • Draft demand letters, pleadings, motions, mediation briefs, settlement agreements, and other legal materials
  • Represent clients at discoveries, mediations, motions, hearings, and other court or tribunal appearances
  • Conduct legal research and prepare opinions on employment and workplace issues
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution
  • Maintain strong client relationships while providing practical and strategic advice
  • Work collaboratively with senior lawyers and other members of the litigation team
Qualifications
  • 3–4 years of employment law or related litigation experience
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Strong interest in plaintiff-side employment law
  • Experience managing litigation files with increasing independence
  • Courtroom, tribunal, mediation, or other advocacy experience
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, advocacy, and analytical skills
  • Excellent judgment and the ability to manage sensitive client matters professionally
  • Strong interpersonal and client-service skills
  • Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple active files
