Job summary

SOAR Community Services in Caledonia, ON is seeking a Full Time Employment Consultant to support job seekers and employers within our Employment Services Team. The role includes assessing needs, developing service plans, and facilitating workshops.

The successful candidate will have a college diploma in a related field, 1+ year experience, strong MS Office skills, and be prepared to travel locally while supporting client retention over a 365-day period.

Qualifications

  • College Diploma in Human/Social Services or Business required, Career Practitioner/Job Development certificate asset.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a related field.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with databases.
  • Access to reliable transportation; some travel may be required.
  • Ability to manage exposure to vicarious traumatic stress.

Responsibilities

  • Develop employment opportunities for clients.
  • Provide employment and training needs assessment and case management.
  • Develop Service Plans.
  • Provide instruction, individual support and advocacy.
  • Facilitate workshops.
  • Complete reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with local training providers.
  • Work with local employers to provide placements.
  • Monitor client's employment retention for 365 days.

Location: Caledonia, ON

Hours: Full Time - Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with 1 evening shift of 12pm-8pm every other week.

The Opportunity

We are recruiting for a Full Time Employment Consultant. Funded by the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development, this role is a vital part of our Employment Services Team supporting job seekers and employers.
