Job Title: Employment and Labour Litigation Legal Assistant

Location: Toronto, ON

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of initial drafts of security and ancillary leasing documents such as officer's certificates, non-disturbance agreements, and notices of lease
  • Review of PPSA and other corporate and personal property security searches
  • Conduct and review title searches and sub searches of title to the property to be mortgaged
  • Prepare electronic registration documentation for leasing matters
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial lending documents
  • Knowledge of procedures to obtain information using corporate databases and online programs
  • Processing of files and documents received from lenders
  • Experience with commercial transactions
  • Preparing special reports including gathering and summarizing data
  • Maintaining physical and electronic document systems
  • Managing multiple lawyers and their practices
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of law clerk experience
  • Extensive Teraview experience
  • Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma is an asset
  • Team-player attitude with strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to multi-task and manage your time in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn
  • Maintain strict confidentiality
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting and billing procedures
