Central Toronto Veterinary Referral & Emergency Clinic (CTVRC/EC) is hiring a full-time Veterinary Technician in Toronto, Ontario. The role focuses on emergency and critical care, working with specialists to manage complex cases and deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an OAVT-accredited Veterinary Technician program.
• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) preferred, or eligible to obtain registration.
• Passed or currently preparing to write the VTNE; OAVT membership in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Triage and assess emergency patients presenting with shock, trauma, toxicity, acute illness, and other critical conditions.
• Perform and document patient evaluations and treatments.
• Assist with advanced procedures including thoracentesis, ultrasound procedures, central line placement, epidurals, and other specialized treatments.
• Provide exceptional nursing care for hospitalized and outpatient cases.
• Perform patient monitoring, TPRs, catheter placement and maintenance, wound care, and rehabilitation support.
• Assist with diagnostic testing and treatment plans.
• Support surgical procedures from patient preparation through anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
• Deliver compassionate patient care and exceptional client communication.
• Collaborate closely with emergency veterinarians, specialists, and support staff to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.
