Job summary

MVESC, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, seeks an experienced Veterinary Technician, Emergency - RVT, in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. You will join a fast-paced, collaborative hospital team and apply advanced ER, Critical Care, and anesthesia skills to support patients in critical moments.

Eligible RVTs with 2+ years in ER/CC are encouraged to apply. The role offers a casual schedule and a compensation package including a $28–$34/hour base with a $3/hour overnight shift premium.

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) is required.
• Licensed with or eligible for EVTA and NSVMA licensure.
• 2+ years of veterinary experience preferred, ideally in ER/CC.
• Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver advanced patient care in emergency and critical care settings.
• Stabilize and treat urgent and critical patients using ER, CC, and anesthesia skills.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, radiography, patient prep and recovery, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Provide nursing care for critical and trauma patients, including monitoring and physiotherapy when appropriate.
• Assist with ER triage, patient assessments, procedures, and client communication.
• Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with veterinarians and care team.
• Provide client updates, review treatment plans, and explain procedures clearly.
