Job summary

MVESC in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician, Emergency to join our 24/7 ER and Critical Care team. This full-time role focuses on advanced nursing care for urgent and critically ill patients and requires RVT licensure with EVTA/NSVMA.

You will collaborate with a busy team, perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, analgesia, radiography, anesthesia monitoring, and patient recovery while ensuring client communication and high standards of care.

Qualifications

• RVN licensure with EVTA and NSVMA.
• ER/CC experience preferred (2+ years).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work rotating weekends and nights.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care for urgent and critically ill patients.
• Stabilize and treat emergency cases in collaboration with veterinarians.
• Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, medication administration, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Maintain patient comfort, monitor vitals, and document medical records.
