Job summary

Island Health operates Port Hardy Hospital, part of Vancouver Island Health Authority, and is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. The role involves assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include BC nursing registration, completion of emergency care training or equivalent experience, CPR within 2 years, and ACLS/PALS/EPICC preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Completion of emergency care nursing program or two years' recent related experience, or equivalent.
• Current CPR within 2 years; ACLS, PALS and EPICC preferred.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan client care with nursing interventions as required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to deliver client-centered care.
• Demonstrate clinical decision making and evidence-based practice.
• Utilize computer systems to document and coordinate patient care.
