About the Role

The Security Systems Advisor will be responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and assurance of physical security systems across project and operational environments.

The role will ensure security systems (e.g. access control, CCTV, intrusion detection) are fit for purpose, compliant with standards, and effectively integrated into HSSE, Emergency Response (ER), and project delivery frameworks.

Within the LNG Canada Phase 2, the role will act as a technical security SME, bridging:

  • Project / EPC contractors
  • HSSE functions (Safety, ER)
  • Asset security operations

This is to align with the need for early mobilisation and strong site presence highlighted in internal discussions on security system design and integration.

You will use your expertise to:

Provide Security Systems Design & Implementation

  • Specify and design physical security systems, including:
  • Access control systems
  • Intrusion detection and alarm systems
  • Perimeter protection and monitoring systems
  • Ensure system design aligns with Project requirements and Applicable standards (e.g. IOGP guidance, corporate HSSE frameworks)
  • Review EPC and contractor designs to ensure compliance and integration

Provide Project Integration & Delivery

  • Integrate security systems into Construction activities, Commissioning & start‑up plans and Operational readiness
  • Coordinate with project teams to ensure systems are Delivered on schedule, Technically compliant and Fully operational at handover
  • Support alignment between project and asset security teams (zippering relationships)

Provide Governance, Compliance & Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with HSSE Management System requirements and Regulatory and company standards
  • Support development of Security procedures and standards and Security system specifications and design bases
  • Conduct assurance activities such as System audits and Inspections and performance reviews

Provide Contractor & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide oversight of EPC contractors and vendors delivering security systems
  • Act as the technical interface between Security contractors, HSSE leadership and Project engineering teams
  • Ensure contractors implement security requirements effectively

Provide Risk Assessment & Security Planning

  • Support development of Security risk assessments and threat and vulnerability assessments
  • Recommend mitigation measures and system upgrades
  • Ensure security systems support broader site security strategy and emergency response planning

Provide Operations Readiness & Handover

  • Ensure security systems are tested and commissioned and integrated into operational procedures
  • Support development of Maintenance strategies and Operational handover documentation
  • Train operations teams on system use and management

To be successful, you will have:

  • The ideal candidate will have5 - 10years’ experiencein Security systems design and implementation Major projects (energy, infrastructure, or industrial.
  • Possess a degree or diploma in Security Systems / Engineering / IT / Electronics or equivalent relevant experience

Preferred candidate:

  • Experience working with integrated HSSE and security requirements preferred
  • Possess Certification in Physical Security Professional (PSP)
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
  • Relevant systems/vendor certifications (e.g. CCTV, access control platforms)

This role requires that you:

  • Be legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • Live in the beautiful District of Stikine (Kitimat/Terrace). For applicants located outside of the region, this role will result temporarily relocating to Kitimat, in which accommodations will be provided by LNG Canada as per our policy, accompanied or unaccompanied status.
