Job summary

GHD is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Scientist for Emergency Response. Based in Edmonton or Calgary, AB, the role blends field and office work in a hybrid model. You will perform spill response, field sampling, reporting, and client support on diverse projects across North America.

The position requires a B.Sc. in environmental-related fields and 2–3 years of experience, with travel to remote sites and potential nights/weekends. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. in Environmental, Civil, Geological, Chemical or equivalent.
• 2–3 years of experience required; co-op experience beneficial.
• Flexible work schedule; weekends, holidays, and nights may be required.
• Experience in a consulting environment is an asset.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
• Attention to detail, analytical skills and time-management for deadlines.
• Field work will be ~70% of the role with hybrid work option.

Responsibilities

• Emergency spill response on-site; 24/7 availability across Canada West and Canada.
• Field work including site containment, drilling, monitoring wells, soil remediation and restoration.
• Prepare proposals, work plans, reports and regulatory submissions; draft updates and data presentations.
