Job summary

Suncor in Oakville is seeking an experienced emergency management professional to lead planning, drills, and incident response for its Ethanol Production Units. Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Five+ years in fire protection services or 10 years industrial emergency response experience.
• Fluent English and French, both written and spoken.
• NFPA certifications in Firefighting, Hazmat, Rescue, and/or ICS Training with On-scene IC experience.
• Strong instructional skills to develop training materials.
• Working knowledge of hazardous materials and spill response practices.
• Excellent communication and non-authoritative leadership to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency planning and response support to Suncor’s Ethanol Production Units, including participation in Response Management Teams during incidents.
• Develop, update, and maintain Emergency Response Plans, pre-plans, response protocols, and risk assessments for regulatory compliance.
• Establish and implement procedures for inspection, testing, maintenance, procurement, and improvement of emergency response equipment and facilities.
• Coordinate and deliver emergency response training programs and coach site teams during drills and events.
• Plan and document small- to large-scale emergency exercises, including marine exercises, with stakeholders.
