New graduates are welcome and will be supported by local physicians and regional specialists. Compensation is Fee-for-Service with comprehensive incentives and relocation funding available.

Role and Facility Information

Join our dynamic healthcare team in the oceanside community of Kitimat, BC. Our medical staff is focused on providing exceptional care to the region. If you have passion for rural healthcare and desire to experience the Pacific Northwest lifestyle, this position may be for you!

We are seeking physicians with Emergency experience to work in a single coverage ER. The Kitimat ER is well supported by the nearby Ksyen Regional Hospital. New graduates are welcome and will be well supported by the local physicians and regional specialists. Day shifts are 0700 - 1900 (approximately 20-30 patients). Night shifts: 1900 - 0700 (approximately 10 patients). FTE commitment is flexible, and there is opportunity to complement your emergency medicine position with primary care, long term care, anesthesiology and/or surgical assisting.

Kitimat General Hospital and Health Centre integrates acute care, residential care, public health and community health in one facility. The hospital contains 20 acute care beds, including 2 maternity beds. The GPAs provide anesthesia services for Orthopedic Surgery, Obstetrics, and other visiting surgeons. In addition there is an outpatient chemotherapy clinic, diabetes and chronic disease management, home support, and long term care. Kitimat General Hospital hosts a regular rotation of visiting specialists in internal medicine, urology, ENT, dermatology, neurology, ophthalmology and radiology.

• May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

• Other Benefits/Incentives Relocation: $15,000 if relocating from outside of Canada: $12,000 if relocating within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if relocating within BC.
