Job summary

Alberta Health Services seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (Ortho Tech) for the Emergency Department at the U of A Hospital in Edmonton. You will apply casts, monitor patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, family-centered care in a 24/7 Level I ED.

Requirements include LPN education, CLPNA registration, and completion of an Orthopaedic Technician program, plus BCLS-HCP.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited LPN education program.
• Active registration and practice permit as an LPN with CLPNA/Health Care Aides of Alberta.
• Completion of an accredited Orthopaedic Technician program.

Responsibilities

• Apply, adjust, and remove casts, splints and traction equipment used for orthopaedic patients.
• Observe, monitor, and document changes in patient condition with safe, quality care.
• Provide patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced Emergency Department.
