Description

Companion Essential Functions/Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow client care plans when providing care/assistance as required by law for companion caregivers.
  • Provide clients' personal hygiene care: baths, showers, oral care, shaves, nail care, skin care, grooming functions.
  • Assist with toileting and bowel/bladder needs: bedpans, urinals, bedside commode use, incontinent briefs, with attention to skin care.
  • Assist with meals: feeding, monitoring intake, supplements, ice water, measuring intake/output, calorie count, percentage eaten.
  • Provide preventative care including ROM, positioning, and safety device application.
  • Assist with ambulation and transfers using assistive devices and transfer belts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Embody the C.A.R.E. First! philosophy: Centered Around Residents Experience, in all aspects of the job.
Qualifications

Education required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience required: Geriatric experience preferred.
