This Embedded Systems Firmware Engineer role is a hybrid position based in the Edmonton, AB area,, with an option for some work from home. The engineer will design, implement, and test embedded firmware for medical or wellness devices, ensuring reliability, safety, and performance. Daily responsibilities include developing low-level drivers and application code, integrating sensors and communication interfaces, and collaborating with electrical engineers on hardware–software integration. The role involves debugging and optimizing firmware, writing documentation, and participating in design reviews to support regulatory and quality requirements. The engineer will also assist in building prototypes, validating functionality in lab and field environments, and supporting cross-functional teams working on brain health technologies.
Strong embedded software and firmware development skills, including experience with microcontrollers, real-time systems, and C/C++/Python.
