ORBCOMM Inc. in Ottawa is seeking an Embedded Software Developer to join our team full-time onsite. You will contribute to development, testing, and enhancements of software for Smart Tracking products, learning Lua, and collaborating with experienced engineers.

You will work in a hands-on environment, translate requirements into software, troubleshoot defects, and participate in both automated and manual testing to ensure quality and reliability.

Qualifikationen

• 3–5 years of experience developing software applications using modern programming languages.
• Understanding of embedded software development principles.
• Experience working in Linux or similar development environments.
• Familiarity with software testing concepts and automated testing practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Aufgaben

• Develop and maintain embedded software components that support Smart Tracking products.
• Learn and apply the Lua programming language to develop and enhance product functionality.
• Translate defined requirements into working software solutions.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects by identifying impacted services and implementing fixes.
• Collaborate with mentors and team members to analyze and address technical issues.
• Learn and utilize the automated regression testing framework and create automated test cases.
• Participate in manual and automated testing activities to ensure software reliability.
• Build knowledge of ORBCOMM products, systems, and development practices via hands-on learning.
• Contribute to team objectives delivering the Smart Tracking application roadmap.
