Moment Energy is seeking a motivated Firmware Engineering Co-op to join our Engineering team in Surrey, starting January 2027. You will support the development of our battery management system (BMS) and work closely with firmware and electrical engineers to create embedded software for our energy storage systems.

The role targets students pursuing Electrical or Computer Engineering with interest in embedded systems, C/C++, and hardware-software integration within the clean energy sector.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Interest in embedded systems and firmware development.
• Familiar with C/C++ or other embedded languages.
• Basic understanding of microcontrollers and hardware interfaces.
• Experience with debugging tools and Git is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team.

Responsabilités

• Assist in developing embedded firmware for the battery management system (BMS).
• Assist firmware testing and validation to ensure system reliability and performance.
• Work with engineers to integrate firmware with battery monitoring hardware and system controls.
• Debug and troubleshoot firmware and hardware interactions.
• Develop and execute test plans and document test results.
• Maintain clear and organized firmware documentation.
• Assist with improving system performance, stability, and safety features.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers on system integration.
