Job Title: Embedded Counsellor: Scholarship Programs.

Department: Team G | Counselling Services | Student Health and Wellbeing | VP Students.

Compensation Range: $7,622.83 - $11,886.67 CAD Monthly.

Posting End Date: May 8, 2025.

Job End Date: Nov 2, 2025. This is a Leave replacement.

Job Summary: Provides counselling services for scholarship recipients, including Black Canadian students, MasterCard Foundation Scholars, and WUSC Scholars. Supports mental health, academic success, career exploration, and community belonging. Collaborates on wellbeing programming, offers mental health support within an integrated care system, and provides consultation and training.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing individual and group counselling and crisis intervention.
  • Developing culturally appropriate wellbeing programs.
  • Participating in case management and policy development.
  • Collaborating with university units and community stakeholders.
  • Supervising practicum students and interns.

Qualifications: Master's in Counselling Psychology or related, eligible for BC certification, minimum 5 years clinical experience, supervisory experience, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications: Registration as a Psychologist, Clinical Counsellor, Social Worker, or Canadian Certified Counsellor; university counselling experience; expertise in diverse concerns; knowledge of student development and cultural humility; lived experience related to Black communities; bilingualism is an asset.
