Job summary

Ledcor is seeking Journeyperson Rig Welders to support major shutdowns across Alberta's industrial sites. You will operate a fully equipped welding rig, perform repairs and new welds on piping and vessels, and read blueprints and WPS to execute work safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Registered Journeyperson Welder certification (Red Seal preferred).
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a reliable welding rig and tooling.
• Experience as a Rig Welder in shutdowns or turnarounds in heavy industries.

Responsibilities

• Supply and operate a welding rig and ensure equipment is ready.
• Complete weld repairs, modifications, and new installations on piping and vessels.
• Read blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs and welding procedures to execute work safely.
• Support critical-path activities in a fast-paced shutdown environment.
• Follow permits, isolation, confined space and LOTO requirements.
• Perform fit-up verification, welding, gouging, and fabrication tasks.
• Maintain high workmanship during extended shifts and tight schedules.
• Participate in safety programs and site orientations.
• Collaborate with supervision, inspectors and other trades to meet milestones.
• Ensure welding activities meet client, regulatory, and QA standards.
