CONFLICT RESOLUTION GUARD

A.S.P. is looking for Conflict Resolution Guards who can deliver highly visible, advanced-level security services in a professional, competent, and courteous manner. Successful applicants must work with integrity, respect, and responsibility for the security and safety of the Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
What you will do:
- Patrol the Passenger Terminal Building on both the public and restricted sides;
- Patrol PortsToronto facilities, including but not limited to the tunnel and ferry terminals;
- Patrol the airport perimeter (foot and vehicle security barrier) and report any deficiencies to the Airport Operations Communication Center;
- Patrol the groundside curb, parking lots, and grounds around the airport;
- Respond to calls for assistance from employees or as directed by the Airport Operations Communication Center;
- Carry and use Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) equipment as required;
- Complete reports and logs on incidents, infractions, deficiencies, or irregularities observed during patrols;
- Escort unauthorized persons out of restricted areas or off the premises;
- Conduct general airside escorts as requested;
- Assist emergency response personnel;
- Provide assistance to the public, including information and directions;
- Maintain crowd control and public order within the airport;
- Verify airport restricted area passes using mobile card readers;
- Assist Traffic Control during peak times;
- Enforce AVOP and RAIC regulations;
- Operate portable radios for communication with team and control centers;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
- Minimum five (5) years experience in the North American security industry, with related security functions;
- At least two (2) years experience in aviation security is an asset;
- Graduate from a recognized community college in law enforcement, security administration, justice studies, social services, mental health, or healthcare;
- Physical fitness and experience with making or assisting arrests;
- Eligible to work in Canada;
- Strong communication, observation, and report-writing skills;
- Ability to work under high stress;
- Quick and informed decision-making skills;
- Licensed by the Province of Ontario as a Security Guard and maintain this license;
- Valid G driver’s license with a clear abstract;
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP-D) and a Restricted Access Identification Card (RAIC);
- Standard First Aid, Use of Force, CPR, and AED certifications;
- Knowledge of security policies, Acts, and legislation, including the Criminal Code, PSISA, Trespass to Property Act, Fire Code, AODA, and WHMIS.
