Job summary

MDA Space in Montreal is seeking an Electronics Inspector for the Satellite Systems division to verify incoming parts against our standards and program requirements; duties include traceability, documentation checks, and non-conformance handling.

You will work with ERP records, perform measurements with verniers and CMMs, and support QA, R&D, and other tasks as needed. A college diploma and experience in electronics or mechanics are required, with French proficiency preferred.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of tolerances and GD&T principles.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 standards.
  • Ability to retrieve and enter data in computer systems.
  • Experience with ERP and production databases.
  • Proficiency in French; English is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming components and documentation for conformance to purchase orders.
  • Maintain traceability in the ERP system and verify revisions.
  • Inspect machined parts and perform minor rework as needed.
  • Inspect coatings, tests, and connector retention; ensure cable continuity.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports and follow up actions.
  • Support QA, R&D, and other tasks as required.
  • All other related tasks.

Your Future Mission

Performs activities related to incoming inspection to ensure the compliance of our parts and products according to our standard processes and specific program requirements. In addition, may be required to perform the duties of certifier, mechanical assembler, electromechanical assembler, micro-electromechanical assembler, production assistant and general helper depending on skills.

Tasks
  • Ensure compliance of all purchased components and related documents according to the purchase order clauses.
  • Perform activities related to maintaining traceability in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Verify the revision of documents as required (CFC).
  • Perform activities related to maintaining traceability in the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Inspect machined parts according to drawing and standards and may perform minor rework as required.
  • Inspect and perform adhesion testing on paint and verify plating reports.
  • Performs trigonometric calculations necessary to relate drawing data to the use of manual (e.g. vernier, micrometer, gauge) and automated (e.g. CMM, ...) measuring instruments.
  • Inspect sub-component assemblies and finished or progressing assemblies for compliance with standards and specifications.
  • Prepare non-conformance reports, follow up and take action.
  • Perform and verify connector retention, wire tension and continuity of cables, wires and harnesses.
  • Support the Quality Assurance team in various functions.
  • Support research and development.
  • All other related tasks
Minimum Qualifications Required
  • Plan reading.
  • Knowledge of the principle of tolerances and geometric dimensions.
  • Proficiency in quality assurance principles and processes.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 as assigned.
  • Ability to retrieve and enter computer data using a computer system.
  • Use of production databases
  • Good knowledge of French.
  • Good judgment.
  • Fine manual dexterity
  • College diploma or diploma of vocational studies in one of the following fields: electronics, mechanics, aeronautics or equivalent.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of English is an asset
Comments/Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
