Job summary

Integrated Power Services (IPS) in Hamilton, Ontario, seeks a skilled Repair Technician to diagnose, test, and repair a wide range of industrial and renewable-energy electronics.   • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant hands-on electronic repair experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex electronics to component level.
  • Strong soldering, SMT rework, and PCB repair skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on industrial/electronic equipment.
  • Diagnose, test, and repair AC drives, VFDs, DC drives, servo drives and related control systems.
  • Troubleshoot power supplies and PCB assemblies; perform SMT repairs.
  • Operate and maintain electronic test equipment and test stands; ensure quality documentation.

If that sounds like the kind of place you've been looking for, we invite you to join us!Benefits:Paid Time Off (PTO)Bonus IncentivesExtensive Training & Career Development ProgramsTuition Reimbursement ProgramMedical, Dental and Vision plansEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)And more!Pay Rate Details: $27.00 - $35.00 CAD depending on experienceResponsibilities & Expectations:The Repair Technician will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, testing, and repairs on a wide range of industrial and renewable energy electronic equipment.Key responsibilities include:Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair of industrial electronics without the use of schematicsDiagnose, test, and repair AC Drives, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), DC Drives, Servo Drives, and related control systemsTroubleshoot and repair, power supplies, analog circuit boards, digital circuit boards, and electronic assembliesRepair and test industrial power electronics used within automation, manufacturing, and renewable energy applicationsSupport troubleshooting and repair activities on inverter systems, converter assemblies, power modules, and related electronic platformsOperate and utilize electronic test equipment and specialized test stands to validate functionality and performance after repairIdentify failed components through advanced testing methods and root cause analysisComplete precision soldering, unsoldering, and electronic rework activitiesPerform Surface Mount Technology (SMT) repairs.Perform detailed inspection, cleaning, repair documentation, and quality checks on completed workSupport continuous improvement activities to improve repair processes, turnaround time, and overall qualityWork collaboratively with technicians, engineering, operations, and customer support teamsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe electronics repair environmentSupport basic disassembly, reassembly, and handling of industrial assemblies where requiredQualifications and Competencies:Minimum 3-5 years of relevant hands-on electronic repair experience required2 – 4 year Electronics Degree, Diploma, or equivalent technical experienceProven ability to troubleshoot complex electronics to component levelStrong understanding of analog and digital electronic circuitsAdvanced soldering, SMT rework, and PCB repair skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong problem-solving skills with a logical troubleshooting approachHigh attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanshipPreferred Skills:Experience with renewable energy equipment including inverter and power conversion technologies considered an assetExperience using custom test stands, electrical test fixtures, and validation equipment considered an assetUnderstanding of high-power industrial electronics and electrical safety practices preferredBasic mechanical aptitude with the ability to safely disassemble and reassemble equipment and assembliesComfortable using common hand tools and performing light mechanical tasksWillingness to learn mechanical teardown, assembly, and specialized testing processes — training will be provided where requiredPersonal Attributes:Experienced technician able to contribute immediately with minimal trainingStrong team player with a positive and professional attitudeHardworking, reliable, and results-driven individualTakes ownership and accountability for assigned workDemonstrates pride in delivering high-quality repairs and customer solutionsYou’ll thrive at IPS if you…Lead with integrity and prioritize safety.
