Job summary

MDA Space is seeking an electro-mechanical assembler in Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, QC to perform assembly of electromechanical products, including TH/SMT components on PCBs, and to operate automated equipment. The role requires strict adherence to processes and collaboration with R&D teams.

Required qualifications include a diploma in electromechanical, 2–5 years of relevant experience, Plan Reading, IPC-A-610 knowledge, and fluency in French (English is an asset).

Qualifications

• College diploma or secondary school vocational diploma in electromechanical, mechanical, aeronautical, or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Plan Reading.
• Basic knowledge of tolerances and geometrical dimensions.
• IPC-A-610 standards knowledge.
• Ability to recover and enter data with a computer system.
• Use of production databases.
• Fine manual dexterity.
• Good knowledge of French; basic knowledge of English is an asset.

Role

Perform assembly of electromechanical products.

Level of Responsibility

Structured work processes. Some analysis is required before independently selecting from known processes.

Responsibilities/Tasks

• Prepare components.
• Proceed with tinning of components.
• Manually assemble through hole (TH) and surface mount technology (SMT) components on printed circuit boards.
• Operate and adjust automated inspection and assembly equipment.
• Prepare, handle and use polymeric products for component bonding.
• Install cables.

• Inspect, check and validate compliance of certain tasks performed by colleagues.
• Support Research and Development.

Minimum Qualifications

• College diploma or secondary school vocational diploma in one of the following fields: electromechanical, mechanical, aeronautical or equivalent.
• 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Plan Reading.
• Basic knowledge of the principle of tolerances and geometrical dimensions.
• Knowledge of standards IPC-A-610
• Ability to recover and enter data with a computer system.
• Use of production databases.
• Fine manual dexterity.
• Good knowledge of French. Basic knowledge of English is an asset (Contact with customers outside Quebec).

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
