Job description

Position Title: Electromechanic

Shift: Day

Status: Full-time

Location: Cornwall, Ontario, CA

Job Summary: The successful electromechanical technician will work under the Maintenance Supervisor as part of a team responsible for optimizing machinery output by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery.

Major Responsibilities:
  1. Repair, install, assemble, maintain, and test industrial equipment (including engines, pumps, compressors, automated and robotic systems, electrical and electronic controls, power tools, fans, blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
  2. Locate, diagnose malfunctions, and perform repairs in the plant.
  3. Plan work ahead to increase repair efficiency.
  4. Report findings, known problems, or delays to the supervisor.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Salary: $31.25/hour

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience.
  • High school diploma and vocational training or equivalent.
  • Completion of a four-year or longer apprenticeship program.
  • Successful completion of internal testing.
  • Relevant industrial experience preferred, especially in troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP/SQF standards is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
  • Experience in manufacturing within a unionized environment.
  • Computer literacy.
