POSITION TITLE: Electromechanic

SHIFT: Day

STATUS: Full-time

Job Summary

The successful electromechanical technician will work under the Maintenance Supervisor as part of a team responsible for optimizing machinery output by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery.

Major Responsibilities
  • Repair, install, assemble, maintain, and test industrial equipment (industrial and stationary engines, pumps, compressors (NH3), automated and robotic systems, electrical and electronic controls, power tools, fans and blowers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems);
  • Locate, determine, and diagnose malfunctions in the plant and perform repairs;
  • Plan work ahead to increase efficiency in repairs;
  • Report specific findings, known problems, or delays to the supervisor;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor.

Salary: $31.25/hour

Qualifications and Experience
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of industrial experience, with a high school diploma and vocational training or apprenticeship of four years or more;
  • Successfully complete internal testing;
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repair preferred;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Knowledge of HACCP/SQF standards and GMP is an asset;
  • Relevant manufacturing experience in a unionized environment;
  • Computer literacy.
