Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) is seeking a Casual Electrodiagnostic Services (EDS) assistant at multiple hospital sites in Victoria and Cowichan districts. The role focuses on ECG testing, equipment maintenance and coordinating patient appointments.

Reporting to the EDS Supervisor, you will ensure reliable equipment operation, maintain records and support staff with information for interpretation by clinicians.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to deal with others effectively.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing and equipment maintenance.
• Provide test information to appropriate medical staff member for interpretation.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and supply inventory is sustained to appropriate levels.
• Booking patient appointments, maintaining records and keeping statistics as required.
