Position Summary
Skilled and safety-focused Electro-Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced corrugated packaging and converting facility. This position is responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical and electrical duties to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, preventative maintenance, continuous improvement, and minimizing equipment downtime.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on production equipment and facility machinery.
- Perform precision alignments, machine calibrations, and adjustments to optimize performance and ensure product quality.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with AC/DC motors, drives, control panels, sensors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Maintain and troubleshoot converting equipment, flexo folder gluers, rotary die cutters, and other corrugated machinery.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and work orders to determine work procedures and repair methods.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce unplanned downtime.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to machine performance, process reliability, and safety.
- Comply with OSHA and company safety policies and procedures in all maintenance activities.

Daily Responsibilities
- Perform daily inspections and routine service of critical equipment.
- Monitor machine condition and log any irregularities or performance deviations.
- Conduct safety checks and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Document all maintenance activities and findings accurately in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Weekly Responsibilities
- Participate in scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections.
- Collaborate with production teams to prioritize work based on operational needs.
- Assist in equipment upgrades, installations, and commissioning projects.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and failure investigations.
As-Needed Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and production interruptions.
- Train operators and junior mechanics on basic troubleshooting and maintenance best practices.
- Support special projects, equipment relocations, or retrofits as required by plant leadership.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, preferably in the corrugated packaging industry.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls, and PLC troubleshooting.
- Experience with AC/DC motors and drives, industrial automation, and material handling systems.
- HVAC, welding, and fabrication experience are a plus.
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance, electromechanics, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a packaging or industrial production environment is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with corrugated converting equipment is a significant advantage.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift for extended periods (up to 12-hour shifts).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, moving machinery, and industrial adhesives.
- Visual acuity requirements include close vision, distance vision, color recognition, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
