Job summary

Big Country Equipment is seeking experienced Industrial Electricians to join our Sparwood, BC team. The role includes field service, diagnostics and repairs on heavy mining equipment with a focus on high-voltage systems.

We offer paid flights to remote sites, shared housing, a 12-hour shift schedule (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off), travel time pay, and a $60 daily meal allowance. Red Seal licensed electricians with mining experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed electrician with Red Seal certification in the work province.
• Mining experience (3–5 years) preferred.
• Experience with high-voltage drives and AC/DC systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Pass background checks and drug testing.
• Must lift 50 lbs and work in demanding environments.

Mining Industrial Electricians - 2/2 - Paid Flights + Accommodations + $60 Meal Allowance - Up to $93.75/hr - Sparwood, BC

Big Country Equipment is seeking experienced Industrial Electricians to join their team in Sparwood, BC. This role involves field service, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy mining and construction equipment, with a focus on high-voltage systems. The ideal candidate is a licensed electrician with mining experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.

Perks & Benefits

• Wage: $62.50 per hour (OT: $93.75 per hour)
• 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule, 12-hour days
• Shift premium: $1.25/hr
• Paid flights to remote job sites from major Canadian airports

• Paid travel time (up to 8 hours at $62.50/hr on travel days)
• Meal allowance: $60 per day

What You’ll Need

• Licensed electrician in the province of work; Red Seal certification required
• 3-5 years of mining experience
• Strong field troubleshooting and industrial electrical experience with high-voltage cable systems, AC/DC drives, and high-voltage systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and clean 5-year driver’s abstract
• Proficiency in English (verbal and written)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. comfortably and work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and heights
• Pass a Criminal Record check, 8-panel drug test (including marijuana), and alcohol breath test
• Provide a minimum of 2 direct supervisor references
• Not seeking subcontractor roles

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Experience with CAT, Komatsu, Bucyrus, P&H, electric surface drills, electric and hydraulic shovels, haul trucks, and other related mining equipment
• Experience with electric drive haul trucks (Komatsu) is strongly preferred
• Experience on Cat electric drive haul trucks is a strong asset
