Overview

Daiken North America LTD is seeking dependable, hard-working Electricianfor our Huntsville, ON facility, (formerly Panolam Industries LTD).

In this role, you will be a valuable part of our Huntsville team

Responsible for installing, constructing and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment and systems, primarily within an industrial setting. Maintenance and troubleshooting of existing equipment,while observing the highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Work to be performed within the guidelines of the “Ontario Electrical Code”, Government Regulations, Panolam’s “Current Practices” & Health & Safety Policies.
  • Be involved in “Continuous Improvement Projects”.
  • Must be capable of working & troubleshooting on A-B PLC’s , AC/DC drives.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to work in a “team” environment.
  • Maintain accurate records & write/print legibly.
  • Perform repairs on equipment.
  • Identify work order priorities for shutdowns.
  • Strong interpersonal & organizational skills.
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Good computer skills required.

Specific Targets:

  • Completion of work within budgetary guidelines.
  • Control safety.
  • Track machine availabilities & efficiencies.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic system faults.
  • Carrying out electrical maintenance procedures.
  • Tuning equipment and ensuring that adequate controls and safety measures are functional.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Industrial Electrician Certification 309A.
  • Electrical Engineering Technologist with 309A would be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Good communication skills in English (verbal & written)
  • Working knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • Able to work at heights using ladders and scissor lifts.
  • Good mechanical trouble shooting skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and a team player who is prepared to work on shift.
  • Regularly exposed to noise and temperature changes.
