Job summary

A1 Cheema Electrical is seeking an Electrician Helper to support our Surrey-based team across residential and commercial job sites. You will assist with wiring installations, repairs, and maintenance, and help prepare work areas while adhering to safety standards.

Relocation assistance is available and OT and vacation pay are offered as part of our benefits. This is a great entry point to develop practical electrical trade skills in a professional setting with opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, construction, or related trade is an asset and on-the-job training will be provided.
• Basic knowledge of electrical tools, materials and safe work practices is an asset.
• Physically capable of demanding tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and standing long periods.
• Comfortable working at heights and in varied indoor/outdoor environments.
• Able to communicate effectively and work in a team.
• Independent work capability with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist electricians in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and electrical specs.
• Measure, cut, bend, and install electrical conduits, cables, and wiring under supervision.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize electrical materials at job sites.
• Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Pull wires through conduits and openings and assist with terminations.
• Prepare work areas and keep sites safe, organized and efficient.
• Support troubleshooting and testing of electrical systems by licensed electricians.
• Collaborate with supervisors and tradespeople to meet specifications and schedules.
• Monitor inventory and aid in maintaining supplies for projects.
• Maintain tools and equipment and report defects or safety concerns.
• Follow safety procedures and electrical codes in all tasks.
• Assist with renovation and repair projects of existing electrical systems.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting and moving materials as required.

Salary: $25.00 to $28.50 per hour

Job Responsibilities

• Assist electricians in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and electrical specifications to support project requirements.
• Measure, cut, bend, and install electrical conduits, cables, and wiring under the supervision of licensed electricians.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize electrical materials, tools, and equipment at job sites.
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, fixtures, outlets, switches, panels, and related equipment.
• Pull wires through conduits and openings in walls and floors and assist with cable terminations.
• Prepare work areas by cleaning, organizing materials, and ensuring job sites remain safe and efficient.
• Support troubleshooting and testing of electrical systems and equipment under the direction of qualified electricians.
• Collaborate with supervisors, electricians, and other tradespersons to ensure projects are completed according to specifications and schedules.
• Monitor inventory of materials and assist in maintaining adequate supplies for ongoing projects.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good working condition and report any defects or safety concerns.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures, electrical codes, regulations, and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
• Assist with renovation, upgrade, and repair projects involving existing electrical systems and components.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving materials and equipment as required.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned to support overall electrical operations and project completion.

• Previous experience in electrical, construction, or a related trade would be an asset; on-the-job training will be provided.
