Job summary

Presstran Industries, a Magna supplier, is seeking an Electrician to carry out installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical components and systems in a manufacturing setting. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and adherence to plant procedures.

The successful candidate will hold an Industrial Electrician license (442a or 309a), have up to 2 years of related education, and possess own tools. Experience in maintenance and a collaborative approach are valued traits.

• Industrial experience considered an asset, especially the ability to function effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Repair, replace, maintain, install electrical components and equipment.
• Locate and determine causes of electrical failure.
• Complete preventive maintenance as assigned by supervisor.
• Assist in training apprentices as assigned by supervisor.

Presstran’s lines of automotive stampings and welding assemblies are used in front motor compartments, underbody structures, truck frame components and front and rear suspensions.The electrician is responsible for carrying out installation, repairs, troubleshooting, maintenance and upgrading of electrical components, wiring, and equipment as required to minimize downtime and maintain or improve efficiency.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:1. Current Industrial Electrician license 442a or 309a.2. Equivalent to completion of community college or specialized trade courses up to 2 academic years.3. Industrial experience considered an asset, especially the ability to function effectively in a team environment.4. Own tools required.DUTIES:1. Repairs/replaces/maintains/installs electrical components, wiring and electrical equipment and/or plant fixtures (including programming and troubleshooting).2. Locates/determines reasons for electrical failure.3. Completes PMs as assigned by Supervisor4. Participates in the training of apprentices as assigned by Supervisor.5. Follow plant lockout procedure.6. Ensures all guards including panel doors are in place.7. Uses proper safety equipment on aerial work platforms or above 9 feet.8. Assist other maintenance trades as required.9. Uses Maintenance Reliability Manager Maintenance Program.10. Comes to work each day, as scheduled.11. Approaches each day and each challenge with a positive attitude.12. Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive.13. Supports and models the Presstran operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook and “How We Work Together”, Magna Employee’s Charter, Magna Corporate Constitution.14.
