Job summary

ManpowerGroup, Inc. in Mississauga seeks a Licensed 442A Electrician for a day shift with afternoon rotation. The role focuses on installing, maintaining and repairing industrial electrical systems in a packaging manufacturing environment.

You will read schematics, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure safety procedures including Lock-Out/Tag-Out. The ideal candidate has 4–5 years' experience, Red Seal preferred, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Completion of a four- or five-year industrial electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent.
• Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) preferred.
• Minimum two years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Installs, examines, replaces or repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and/or other electrical components.
• Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintains, repairs, installs and tests switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
• Maintains, repairs, tests and installs electrical motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoots, maintains and repairs industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices.
• Conducts preventive maintenance programs and keeps accurate maintenance records.
• May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices as required.
• Facilitate Lock-Out / Tag-Out procedures.

Our growing Mississauga client who is a leader in Packaging Manufacturing is looking for a Licensed 442A Electrician to join their team. The position is a day shift but will require afternoons as well. You must have a minimum of 4-5 years related experience and will be responsible for the following: Maintenance Electricians are responsible for installing, maintaining, testing, troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls, together with all other activities as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.

Job Requirements:

• Secondary school graduation attained together with the successful completion of a four- or five-year industrial electrician apprenticeship program required. May consider a combination of over five years of work experience in the trade and college or industry courses in industrial electrical equipment.
• Trade certification mandatory with Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) preferred.
• A minimum of two (2) years previous experience in manufacturing required.
• Superior problem solving and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Has strong interpersonal skills and maintains constructive working relationships.
• Must have the ability to work independently within a defined/documented schedule.
• Computer literate and with a working knowledge of MS Office products.
• MUST have/use all hand tools necessary to perform electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Has a clear understanding of potential health and safety hazards within a manufacturing facility and is knowledgeable of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Legislation.

Hours- Mon-Friday 7am-3:30pm and Afternoon Shift when required is 3:30pm-11pm
Pay $47.53/hr
