Responsibilities

  • Performs all functions of the electrician.
  • Receives and analyzes electronic circuits and drawings.
  • Plans details of working procedures.
  • Makes sketches of parts and layouts.
  • Disassembles and inspects electronic devices.
  • Tests and adjusts equipment for safe operation.
  • Prepares ladder diagrams for control systems.
  • Records modifications to electrical circuits.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots camera systems.
  • Keeps records of repairs and tests.
  • Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
  • Secures electrical cabinets as applicable.
  • Informs operations supervisor upon job completion.
  • Monitors operation and reports malfunctions.
  • Maintains cleanliness of assigned area.
  • Ensures safety equipment is properly used.

Job Accountabilities

Continuous 12 hours, 4 days on 4 days off for 2 weeks then rotate. Unionized Facility.

Responsibilities

  • Performs all of the functions of the electrician.
  • Receives and analyzes all types of electronic circuits, wiring diagrams, schematics and drawings to inspect, install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, overhaul, modify or service all types of electronic devices and systems.
  • Plans details of working procedure for such equipment to determine material or replacement needs and selects a logical approach to “trouble shooting” and repair problems.
  • Makes sketches of parts and layouts; designs and constructs adaptations or conversion of component parts.
  • Disassembles, inspects, adjusts, repairs or replaces faulty parts and wiring and reassembles all types of electronic devices. Makes mechanical repairs as required in connection with the servicing of electronic equipment.
  • Inspects, tests and adjusts electronic equipment for safe and proper operation.
  • Prepares ladder diagrams for programmable control systems, e.g. Allen Bradley, Modicon, Texas Instruments, Digital Equipment Corp. etc.
  • Records existing electrical drawings or makes separate sketches of any modifications or additions to electrical circuits made by himself during the performance of his duties and notifies immediately his supervisor of any such changes or additions. Seeks permission from his supervisor prior to any temporary passing of safety controls or other parts of circuits when risk to personnel or equipment is involved.
  • Is responsible for returning electrical drawings to their assigned location in the appropriate active file and for keeping such file neat and in order.
  • Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pressco camera systems.
  • Maintain and update records of repairs, calibrations, and tests. Use computer to store and retrieve records/information.
  • Makes daily entries into the shop log book.
  • Reports to his supervisor of any signs of potential unsafe conditions or down time due to electrical equipment deterioration or to the tampering or misuse by unauthorized personnel.
  • Secures by lock or seal, as applicable, of designated electrical cabinets.
  • Advises production supervisor immediately upon completion of the job that operation of equipment can resume.
  • Starts up, monitors operation, reports malfunction and shuts down all apparatus room equipment when so licensed.
  • Starts up and shuts down gas‑fired ovens when so requested.
  • Keep assigned area clean and hazard free.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment, devices and guards are properly used and in place at all times. Follow safe working procedures and safety rules.

Qualifications

  • 442A or 339A Electrician License mandatory.
