Job summary

The Electrician role is a full-time, on-site position in Elliot Lake, ON, supporting City facilities, infrastructure, and public spaces. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in municipal buildings, ensuring safe operation.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in electricity and electrical work, including knowledge of local electrical codes and safety practices.
  • Experience in maintenance & repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in commercial or institutional settings.
  • Proficient troubleshooting skills for diagnosing electrical faults and implementing effective corrective actions.
  • Understanding of basic electrical engineering principles related to circuits, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Relevant trade certification or license as an Electrician in Ontario (or eligibility to obtain), with a track record of hands-on field experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals, and to use standard electrical tools and testing equipment safely.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with colleagues, contractors, and members of the public.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between city sites as required.
