The Transformers business segment is a global technology leader and the world's largest supplier of transformers. We are pioneers in digital transformer technologies, working at the forefront of renewable energy and ultra-high voltage AC and DC applications.

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Manager – Electrical Testing for its Quebec City factory. Reporting to the Director - Quality, the successful candidate will plan and oversee electrical and mechanical tests for transformer production, ensuring safety standards are maintained in the testing area.

Responsibilities:

1. Plan and coordinate special internal tests according to established protocols.
2. Organize factory acceptance tests (FAT) for customer approvals.
3. Collaborate with production supervisors on requirements, tests, training, calibration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
4. Coordinate with maintenance supervisors for corrective and preventive maintenance in the test area.
5. Identify electrical risks in testing and develop mitigation solutions.
6. Ensure compliance with safety standards for testing procedures.
7. Generate reports for clients.
8. Manage actions during test equipment breakdowns, working with the team.
9. Plan and deliver training for quality assurance technicians.
10. Advise technicians during investigations of customer returns or test failures.
11. Conduct audits in the testing area.
12. Maintain and update work procedures.
13. Participate in defining investment needs and project development for the testing area.
14. Perform other related tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

1. DEC in electrical, electrotechnical, electromechanical engineering, or industrial electronics technology.
2. Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
3. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
4. Knowledge of Lean systems is an asset.
5. Fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
6. Strong problem-solving skills.
