Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Test Engineer to lead production testing of electrical components and systems in Kimberley. You will design, implement and maintain test procedures, fixtures and equipment, and analyze test data to drive quality improvements.

The role requires a strong background in electrical principles, test equipment calibration, and collaboration with R&D and manufacturing teams to improve testability and manufacturability. A hands‑on approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical testing, ideally in production/manufacturing.
• Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators and spectrum analyzers.
• Experience with programming for ATE (LabVIEW, Python, or C#).
• Strong understanding of electronics, circuit analysis and failure analysis techniques.
• Excellent documentation and attention to detail.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Electrical Test Engineer to oversee production testing for their electrical components and systems in Kimberley . This role is essential for ensuring that all manufactured products meet rigorous quality standards and performance specifications before reaching the customer. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining test procedures, fixtures, and equipment, as well as analyzing test data to drive continuous improvement in production quality and efficiency. This hands‑on role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles and a commitment to quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and validate comprehensive electrical test procedures and protocols for production lines.
• Design and build custom test fixtures and automated test equipment (ATE) to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of test equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Analyze test results, identify trends, and troubleshoot failure modes, providing detailed reports and recommendations for corrective actions.
• Collaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to provide feedback on product design for testability and manufacturability.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001) and safety regulations.
• Train production staff on proper testing procedures and the use of test equipment.
