Qualifications

  • Registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist or Engineer in Training in New Brunswick, or eligible within six months.
  • Two to three years' work experience preferred, but less experience accepted.
  • Hands-on experience in design and drafting of electrical systems required.

Your opportunity

Dillon’s Electrical discipline group is looking for anElectrical Technologist/Engineer-in-Training to join our multidisciplinary team of professionals. You will have the opportunity to work on new and exciting projects while providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

This position is available at our Fredericton office. This position requires the person to be in the office five times a week (hybrid work arrangement and remote work is available on an as needed basis).

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

Design & Drafting

  • Assist Electrical Engineers and Project Managers with the design and drafting support for multi-disciplinary projects
  • Assist with the preparation of reports, specifications, and project memos
  • Assist with electrical calculations including voltage drop, load calculations, short circuit analysis and Arch Flash studies

On-site observation

  • Performance of electrical observations, and inspections during construction
  • Review shop drawings, respond to request for information from contractors
  • Commissioning of on-site systems
  • Business travel upon request

Learning & Development

  • Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
  • Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

  • An electrical engineering technologist diploma or Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineer
  • Registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist or Engineer in Training in the province of New Brunswick or eligible to be certified within six months
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Experience
  • Two to three years’ work experience, however less experienced professionals will be considered
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2014 (or newer)
  • Working knowledge ofRevitas a Building Information Management (BIM) design tool
  • Working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code and related building codes
  • Microstation experience is an asset
  • Hands-on experience in the design and drafting of electrical systems is required
