Job summary

IKO Industries Ltd. in Hawkesbury, ON, seeks an Electrical Supervisor to lead a team of industrial electrical and electronics technicians. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will supervise, train, and coordinate maintenance and capital projects to minimize downtime and costs.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Industrial Electrician with Red Seal is a strong asset.
  • Electrical Engineering degree or diploma is a plus.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley drives, Relay Logic, PLCs.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience in continuous manufacturing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • On-call availability; weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line supervision and technical assistance to industrial electrical and electronics technicians.
  • Lead hiring and training for installation, testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair of electrical/instrumentation equipment.
  • Lead troubleshooting and devise solutions for electrical and instrumentation problems.
  • Develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance Program for electrical/instrumentation equipment.
  • Develop, review and update maintenance instructions and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Coordinate with Operations and Mechanical Maintenance personnel.
  • Plan, schedule and supervise maintenance and capital work.
  • Process maintenance work orders, purchase requisitions, weekly schedules, PMs, and update equipment database.
  • Oversee testing/calibration of equipment on schedule.
  • Coordinate plant inspections.
  • Review/drawings for contract work and inspect for standards.
  • Participate in capital and maintenance budgets.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance; enforce safety procedures.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager.

We are currently seeking an Electrical Supervisor to join our team of skilled professionals at our Hawkesbury, ON Location. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Electrical Supervisor’s role is to provide leadership and technical assistance to the industrial electrical technicians, electronics technicians and external contractors to work in a safe and productive manner while minimizing unscheduled production downtime and maintenance costs.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide first-line supervision, technical assistance and training to a staff of journey-level industrial electrical and electronics technicians
  • Participate in hiring and training of personnel engaged in the installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of electrical, instrumentation, electronic control and related equipment and machinery, such as programmable logic controllers, electrical distribution systems, motors, transformers, actuators, switches, lighting, and communication systems
  • Lead the team in troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation problems, and devise solutions for these problems
  • Develop and maintain Preventive Maintenance Program for electrical and instrumentation equipment
  • Develop, review and update maintenance instructions and procedures
  • Develop and maintain spare parts inventory
  • Work closely with Operations and Mechanical Maintenance personnel
  • Plan, schedule and supervise maintenance and capital work
  • Responsible for processing maintenance work orders, purchase requisitions, weekly schedules, PMs, and updating the equipment database
  • Plan and oversee testing and calibration of electrical and electronic equipment, devices and tools on a scheduled basis
  • Coordinate plant inspections
  • Review or prepare drawings and specifications for contract work and inspect work performed to determine compliance to standards
  • Participate in the development of the capital and maintenance budgets
  • Ensure compliance to internal and corporate policies, procedures and regulations with respect to Health & Safety
  • Enforce proper safety procedures, educate employees on rules, regulations, codes, safe work habits and potential hazards presented in their work environment
  • Respond to emergency situations as necessary
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Manager
Qualifications
  • Licensed Industrial Electrician with Red Seal Certification is a strong asset
  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Diploma is a plus
  • Must have knowledge of Allen Bradley Drives, Relay Logic, PLC logic controls and Programming
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a continuous manufacturing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work collaboratively
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Must be available on-call and work occasionally on weekends
