We currently have an opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager to join our Building Services team in Port Coquitlam.

The mission of an Electrical Project Manager is to manage the budget, schedule and work closely with the foremen, subcontractors and vendors to deliver a successful project. One of the key success factors is to assist Project Delivery teams with successfully completing projects within the planning process. The Project Manager focuses on reaching the overall financial goals of their projects, in collaboration with the Operations Team.

The Electrical Project Manager role encompasses a wide range of duties which include but are not necessarily limited to the following: budgets, managing labour, purchasing, administration, cost control, supplier and subcontractor coordination, communication, scheduling, pricing of change orders, financial management of projects, establishing and managing client relationships. Project Managers are viewed as the project leads and have a direct line of communication with General Contractors and owners; the expectation is to promote all faculties of Modern Niagara (specifically Services) to clients for the complete building life annual cycle.

Overview of Responsibilities:

The Electrical Project Manager will play a key role in overseeing electrical construction, service, and small project work, while also supporting the estimating team as needed. This individual will manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects, from preconstruction through to closeout, ensuring alignment with company goals, safety standards, and client expectations. The Electrical Project Manager will report to the Electrical Service Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Attend and contribute to estimating turnover meetings and preconstruction meetings
  • Manage labor and on-site project execution in collaboration with the Electrical Service Manager.
  • Prepare and present monthly financial forecasts for assigned projects and participate in Project Status Review (PSR) meetings
  • Review project contracts and ensure work is completed efficiently, meeting productivity, quality, and cost objectives
  • Participate in client and site coordination meetings, and effectively communicate updates to internal teams and subcontractors
  • Maintain and manage change order pricing using Accubid Anywhere.
  • Foster strong working relationships across field staff, estimators, and operations teams
  • Continuously advance professional and technical knowledge through industry events, publications, and networking

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical project management or equivalent experience in a leadership role.
  • A candidate with an Electrical Red Seal Endorsement is preferred.
  • A Candidate with FSR-A or B is preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proven capability to manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Solutions-oriented with strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and team mentorship experience
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage internal teams and external clients professionally
  • Knowledge of contract language, and relevant industry regulations.
  • Solid understanding of project financial controls and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple job sites and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, FieldPoint, Procore, Accubid Anywhere, and Blue Beam are considered a strong asset.
  • Working knowledge of QA/QC standards and health and safety best practices.
  • A collaborative, team-first mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
