Job summary

West Edmonton Mall Property Inc. (West Edmonton Mall and Fantasyland Hotel) is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Assistant to help maintain lighting across the mall's parks and attractions and perform general labour tasks.

You will check for burnt out lights, assist electricians, help with wall games maintenance, and support various departments with safe, efficient work. This role requires Grade 12, the ability to lift heavy items, comfort at heights, WHMIS, and adaptability to varied

Qualifications

• Completion of grade 12 education.
• Ability to lift and transport heavy items.
• Working in different environments and conditions throughout the property (ie. hot and humid, noisy, etc.)
• Comfortable working at heights.
• WHMIS certification or willingness to complete this training.
• Mechanical ability an asset.

Responsibilities

• Checking for burnt out lights in all areas of attractions and replace as necessary.
• Informing electricians when a ballast is suspect of being burnt out so a qualified electrician can inspect and change it.
• Regularly check wall games for operation and carry out minor repairs to ensure they remain safe and functional for use.
• Carry out safe and efficient removal of structures, fixtures, and materials using appropriate tools and equipment, while following all safety guidelines.
• Assisting all trades of parks electrical when needed in general labour duties
• Provide support to various departments by performing general labor tasks as needed. This includes helping with a variety of duties to ensure smooth operations across the organization.
• Perform regular maintenance and cleaning tasks to ensure shop areas are safe, organized, and operating efficiently. This includes tidying workspaces, disposing of waste properly, and maintaining equipment cleanliness.
• Other duties required when requested.

Terms Of Employment

• This position requires working a 5 day week 06:00 – 14:30 (weekends and nights when needed and scheduled).
• Potential hazards include working with high voltages.
• Must be able to pass a basic security clearance.
