Job description

Our Frontenac, Kansas facility is now accepting applications for a Full-Time Electrical & Instrumentation Technician position in the maintenance department for night shift. This is a Monday through Friday position, 6p-2:30a. Competitive wages and excellent benefits. POSITION SUMMARY - Performs calibration, troubleshooting, repair, justification, modification, installation and maintenance of complex instrumentation and control systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Troubleshoot PLC code on new and existing equipment.
  2. Participate and coach others to maintain power and controls equipment.
  3. Lead improvement projects and plant control upgrades.
  4. Ability to operate high-speed making, packing, and other production-related equipment.
  5. Make personal safety and safe operations a priority.
  6. Maintain a clean work area and utilize Good Manufacturing Practices by following all quality specifications and performing quality inspections.
  7. Know and use terminology and functions of machine components.
  8. Quickly and effectively troubleshoot and repair plant equipment.
  9. Develop and update electrical schematics for systems using AutoCAD.
  10. Effectively coordinate sub-contractors performing technical work.
  11. Other duties as required, in order to meet business needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. High School diploma or GED.
  2. Two-year technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  3. Three years' experience supporting machine control systems preferred.
  4. Solid understanding of Rockwell PLC hardware, PLC programming, VFDs, and HMI.
  5. Solid understanding of servos, encoders, linear actuators, pneumatic equipment, and sensors.
  6. Must be able to read and write English.

  3. Be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
  4. Push / Pull up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
  5. Ability to work outside in all types of weather.
  6. Able to walk and stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time.

PAY - $33 / hr Plus $2 / hr night shift differential.

SHIFT - M-F 6p - 2:30a.
