Job summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking a part-time instructor to deliver Level 1–4 Apprenticeship Training, Applied Certificate Electrical Training, and develop program materials at the Saskatoon campus.

Qualifications

• Provide instruction to students in electrician programs.
• Design and deliver an outcome-based learning environment.
• Prepare lessons, assignments and demonstrations.
• Develop new curriculum and training materials.
• Utilize digital tools (Office 365, Zoom, Teams, PowerPoints).

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students enrolled in the Electrician program.
• Design and implement a student-centered learning environment using an outcome-based approach in either a face-to-face or online delivery mode.
• Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations using principles of adult learning.
• Develop new curriculum, training aids, and materials as needed.
• Use digital tools proficiently, including typical architectural software and general office applications.
• Be flexible and responsive to learner needs using varied instructional methods.
• Plan and deliver content and learning activities that reflect cultural diversity.
• Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
• Support accommodation of diverse learners.
• Develop relationships with external partners and employers for student experiences.
• Pursue professional development to stay current with requirements.
• Mentor students regarding opportunities, industry expectations, and career goals.
• Work cooperatively in a team environment.
• Attend program and school meetings.
