Hatch Ltd. in Niagara Falls seeks an Electrical Engineering Trainee, a new graduate, to support global projects from our Niagara Falls office with opportunities in other Hatch offices and job sites.

Reporting to the Electrical discipline lead, you will contribute to LV/MV/HV power distribution design, develop schematics, and assist with studies and commissioning. You should be finishing in 2027 with a Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering and have knowledge of power systems, electrical

Qualifications

  • Must graduate in 2027 with a BASc/BE/MASc/ME in Electrical Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of power systems, AC/DC design and fundamentals.
  • Courses in electric circuits, power electronics and electric machines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Co-op or work terms in electrical design are an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Industrial electrical design for LV, MV and HV power distribution with diagrams and schematics.
  • Electrical system modelling using ETAP/EasyPower and arc flash studies.
  • Development of technical specifications, reports and construction work packages.
  • Power system control programming, configuration, on-site implementation and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients and vendors.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Industrial electrical design for LV, MV and HV power distribution including development of single line diagrams, motor schematics, protection/control schemes and layout drawings.
  • Electrical system modelling using EasyPower/ETAP, conducting arc flash and other studies.
  • Development of technical specifications, reports and construction work packages
  • Power system control programming, configuration, implementation on-site and commissioning
  • Interfacing and collaboration with project team members, clients and vendors

You bring to the role:

  • Must be working towards graduating in 2027, or recently graduated, with a Bachelor of Applied Science, Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Applied Science, or Master of Engineering degree inElectrical Engineeringfrom an accredited University.
  • Good knowledge of power systems, AC and DC design and electrical design fundamentals.
  • Courses in electric circuits, power electronics and electric machines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Previous coop or work terms in electrical engineering design/execution will be considered an asset.

Compensation:

Range: $78,000.00 - $81,000.00

At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.

Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location. In addition to base pay, our total rewards package may include performance-based incentives, comprehensive benefits, and other programs designed to support your well-being and growth.
