Job summary

Hatch in Calgary, Alberta, seeks an Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to support the Project Delivery Group. You will assist with industrial electrical design for LV, MV and HV distribution, develop single line diagrams, protection schemes, and perform studies using EasyPower/ETAP.

Reporting to the CA&E discipline lead, you’ll contribute to global projects from our Calgary office. You are graduating in 2027 or a recent electrical engineering graduate, with solid knowledge of power

Qualifications

  • Graduating in 2027 or recent graduate in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Good academic standing with extracurricular/volunteer involvement.

Responsibilities

  • Industrial electrical design for LV, MV and HV power distribution including single line diagrams and protection/control schemes.
  • Electrical system modelling and studies using EasyPower/ETAP.
  • Development of technical specifications, reports and construction work packages.
  • Power system control programming, configuration, on-site implementation and commissioning.
  • Collaborating with project team members, clients and vendors.

Hatch is seeking anElectrical Engineer-in-Trainingnew graduate in our Project Delivery Group. Reporting to the Controls, Automation and Electrical (CA&E) discipline lead Engineer, you will support projects globally working from our Calgary, Alberta office.

Responsibilities:
  • Industrial electrical design for LV, MV and HV power distribution including development of single line diagrams, motor schematics, protection/control schemes and layout drawings.
  • Electrical system modelling using EasyPower/ETAP, conducting arc flash and other studies.
  • Development of technical specifications, reports and construction work packages
  • Power system control programming, configuration, implementation on-site and commissioning
  • Interfacing and collaboration with project team members, clients and vendors.
Education and Experience:
  • Graduating in 2027 or recent graduate in an Electrical Engineering Bachelor or Master program at an accredited University.
  • Excel academically while being actively involved in extra-curricular and/or volunteer activities at school or in the community.
  • Good knowledge of power systems, AC and DC design an electrical design fundamentals.
  • Courses in electric circuits, power electronics and electric machines.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Previous coop or work terms in electrical engineering design/execution will be considered an asset.
