Job summary

GeoSpectrum Technologies Inc. in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking an Electrical Technologist to join our multidisciplinary engineering team to support the design, assembly, testing, and documentation of advanced marine acoustic products.

The ideal candidate has a diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, hands-on experience with electronic systems, and a passion for continuous improvement. GTI offers a collaborative environment and exciting technical challenges.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology.
  • Experience in electrical or electronic assembly and test of components and systems.
  • Detail-oriented and well organized.
  • Experience reading engineering documentation, wiring schematics and BoM’s.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Passionate about build and test and producing a quality product.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Work within our manufacturing team to produce cutting-edge marine acoustic technology.
  • Assembly, inspection and test of electronic components and sub-assemblies.
  • Product testing and characterization using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, impedance analyzers, and insulation resistance testers.
  • Maintain product build and test verification documentation and ensure quality standards.
  • Maintain assembly and test procedures and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Work within our experienced manufacturing team of skilled engineers,technologistsand technicians to producecutting edgemarine acoustic technology
  • Assembly, inspection and test of electronic components and sub-assemblies, including: PCAs, wiring harnesses, electronics enclosures and racks.
  • Product testing,including;product characterization using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, impedance analyzers, and insulation resistance testers.
  • Complete andmaintainproduct build and test verification documentation. Assess product compliance toestablishedquality standards
  • Maintain product documentation including assembly and test procedures
  • Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing group
  • Operate within a dynamic manufacturing environment in a safe manner, adhering to all safety precautions and procedures including the use of appropriate protectiveequipment
  • Supporting and ensuring adherence to our Quality Management System
Qualifications
  • Technologist Diploma from a recognized college or university
  • Experience in electrical or electronic assembly and test of components and systems
  • Detail-oriented and well organized
  • Experienced in reading engineering documentation, wiring schematics and BoM’s
  • Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Passionate about build and test and producing a quality product
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
Security Requirements

All candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain Canadian Controlled Goods and Canadian Government Security clearances.
